In our everyday life, we are constantly exposed to electromagnetic fields. The most common fields at home are electromagnetic fields produced by the mains low-frequency current 50/60 Hz. The human body intensively absorbs electric field of this low frequency current, but practically doesn’t absorb the magnetic field.
Electric fields are usually measured in volts per metre (V/m). A worldly recognized Swedish safety standard for electric fields in the home environment is 10 V/m. You probably wonder how it is at your home. What is the electric radiation on your bed or on the floor where your kids play? Quite often it can be 100 V/m or more. Electric wiring, extension cables, sockets and electrical appliances in the house or office produce external electric fields that may cause illnesses, sleeping disorders, tiredness and headaches. Electrical appliances produce electric fields even when they are switched off, if they are connected to the socket which is turned on.
So, how can we protect ourselves?

ADR MATs are durable and will last for a minimum of 5 years if used properly. They can be washed by hand at low temperatures (below 30°C), but no longer than for 3 minutes. A little bit of detergent can be used. Washing in a washing machine or ironing must be avoided, because it can considerably lower the effectiveness of the ADR MAT.
